Google Reindexing All Sites After Penguin

Google, being weary of SEO manipulation, is trying somehow to fully get their hands on the listing of its own search engine.

And, their trying to lessen, if not to eradicate all these obscure SEO techniques that bypass its rules to take up the top 10 leading positions in its results pages. (SERP's) (except for genuine and good article marketing)

The latest rumour is that Google wants to rebuild its entire database of web pages indexed. There is a growing issue, at Google, to re-index all the pages.

How is Google planning on doing this?

Google launched in a quick succession, Google's sharing button +1 in March 2011 (after Google Panda in mid-February, then the Penguin soon after in 2012), then its social platform called Google + end of June 2011.

And since these two tools, including a button, enabled them to collect considerable data already approved for the contents (plusses) and shared on Google +.

From there, Google would consider using the data collected with the +1 button to create a new search engine, or at least a new database of indexed links.

When Google confirms the rumors ...

The rumor was so persistent that the serious online magazine Wired.com had to ask Google to confirm or deny the news. This is Wired.com and that received a confirmation email from Google saying in substance this:

"Google considers all button clicks as a signal that can influence the ranking and the ranking of websites in its results pages".

In other words, a button will probably enable Google to re-index all available content, and update its database. Of course, not all of them, its not a change of algorithm for classification, although there 's doubt, but a possible real change is: data feeding its search engine. This is so that the interpreter, also Wired.com, thinks that Google does not contradict itself, we believe them!

Google in the era of social referencing?

And so they ended the SEO? So they ended the netlinking? This is therefore the importance of natural backlinks, amybe genuine article marketing. Is this +1 the first signal for ranking well on Google? Perhaps. All indications are that it will direct it. Slowly but surely ...

At the moment Google confirms this desire to rebuild its index. This may suggest that there would be a scuttling of the database currently with its billions of web pages. And all that, to start from scratch with new data from a button would be close to impossible.

Could it be otherwise? Especially when you know that Google Panda has not really produced the desired effect (on the side of Google, of course), but that Penguin may have. But they did demonstrate the call for the denunciation launched by Matt Cutts on Twitter.

This call for the denunciation appearing as an admission of powerlessness, Google fights against all these black hat techniques and other webspams. Google Penguin does not seems to be a partial failure like Panda, its as effective as Google wanted it to be, but did it deindex links from some subdomains within a same domain name? The next time we will be located Panda!

In all cases, to retain the confidence of almost 90% of online users who use its engine, it appears almost certain that Google wants to renovate its search engine and place it in a new era of social referencing.

Social referencing which will appeal to humans, and a honest and unique article marketing,  is sort of the way a selection of web pages are visited by means of a +1 button (thus sharing our stuff, us bloggers, available to many, without the knowledge or of our own free will!). Google is charging, using its algorithm and displays the web the most plussées (1) but also the most relevant.

This initiative plausible to Google, if it is, also aims not to leave the field open to social networks like Facebook and Twitter that have search engine can provide results in terms of public opinion (the most beloved items or shared).
Advantages and disadvantages

I think that there are pros and cons of this desire for change in the index. And Google could either benefit or suffer the consequences.

Involve humans through a clicks is a good idea that should help filter out corrupt links correct links. This is nothing!

This reconstruction will also have the advantage of seeing the pages that display the most acclaimed. That is to say those whose contents have actually given satisfaction to the user. Which would give a small chance of any page relevant and well written to be easily found since adoubée by public opinion.

The information thus displayed on the pages of Google results would, in principle, credible.

But, how Google could he ensure that the listing on this new search engine (consider it as well) will not be so manipulated by hackers and other ninjas?

As always, especially on the internet, any new system fuels greed. This could result, after the "link farms", "farms of a" managed by real-fake profiles Google +.

Which, over time, will also undermine the credibility of the links on the pages of Google results.

We can now understand why Google Google + deletes profiles created with fancy nicknames.

Want to completely rebuild the index of its search engine is a good solution to try to eject all webspams. But this migration process itself will certainly be a difficult technical operation which could take time. Because "no error and no fault should existed to preserve the integrity of new links indexed.

Hence the importance of the issue with the button and a Google + that require extensive testing and analysis can prove very driven up by delaying the admission of the public to Google +.
How do we conclude?

Change search engine using as main criterion for referencing the signal returned by a button, that is also requiring all webmasters to adopt to expect to be referenced. And that, to the detriment of other social networking buttons.

I think this changes the database to come, confirmed, according to Wired.com, Google itself will not change much about the usual basic techniques of optimization and SEO.

Only, writing unique web content with maybe some good article marketing, and relevance, will now unable to capture thei attention, and favors, and thank you's from readers who willingly will give you a "+1", a Facebook Like or a re-Tweet, and Google will congratulate you!

  1. Some people are leery about link building nowadays with the release of Google Penguin. That said, the internet is still about links. Links make it possible to share knowledge and allow information to be connected in a meaningful way. Backlinks still matter, and so does SEO. It's just that now more than ever before that site owners must focus on obtaining more natural, relevant and higher-authority sites.
